My health journey
- Health and fitness have always been my passion, but my path has looked very different from what most people expect. Behind every certification, every training session, and every client success story is a lifetime of learning how to navigate complex chronic illnesses while continuing to pursue strength, resilience, and purpose.
- I live with hydrocephalus and have a ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt, cerebral palsy, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), chronic gastrointestinal disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, and chronic pain. These conditions have required countless appointments with specialists, extensive testing, surgeries, treatments, and years of advocating for answers when they weren't immediately available.
- Living with these conditions has taught me that health is never one-size-fits-all. Every person's body responds differently, and true wellness goes far beyond the number on a scale. I've experienced firsthand how hormones, digestion, neurological conditions, inflammation, chronic pain, and mobility limitations can affect energy, exercise, recovery, nutrition, confidence, and everyday life.
- Rather than allowing these challenges to define me, they became the foundation of my mission. They inspired me to pursue a career in fitness where I could help others find safe, sustainable ways to move their bodies and improve their health—regardless of their starting point or medical history.
- My own journey has led me to develop a strong interest in hormone health, chronic illness, gastrointestinal wellness, prenatal and postpartum fitness, corrective exercise, functional movement, and helping clients build strength while respecting the limitations their bodies may present. I understand that some days simply showing up is the biggest victory, and I believe progress should always be measured by more than appearance alone.
- At SRG Fitness, I combine professional education with lived experience. I know what it's like to train through pain, adjust workouts around medical procedures, manage unpredictable symptoms, and celebrate progress that others may never see. That perspective allows me to meet clients with empathy, patience, and practical strategies tailored to their individual needs.
- My goal is to help people realize that a diagnosis does not have to define their future. While chronic illness may change the path, it does not eliminate the possibility of becoming stronger, healthier, and more confident. Strength isn't about having a perfect body—it's about continuing to move forward, even when your body presents challenges.
- If my journey has taught me anything, it's that resilience is built one step, one workout, and one decision at a time. My hope is that through SRG Fitness, I can help others discover the strength that already exists within them while empowering them to advocate for their health and create a life that works with their body, not against it.
